Introduction
Dear colleagues,
A few years ago, News Group established the PR Measurement Summit to promote data-driven decision making in public relations; I am happy to say the event has played a central role in making research, measurement and evaluation a standard practice within the region's communications industry. Our biggest accomplishment has been to show the regional PR industry that measurement is central to the successful planning and implementation of communications activity. We have also shown how measurement is now affordable and easily implemented across all points of the PR effort thanks to new technology, well documented methodologies and best practice.
This year the PR Measurement summit will focus on how to measure PR in government and public affairs. This exciting sector in our regional communications industry is enjoying rapid growth and increasing sophistication. In fact, governmental agencies including transport agencies, police departments, medical organizations, NGOs and others are all actively using PR. But are they succeeding? and what examples of measurement, if any, have been used to evaluate the success of these campaigns? can we learn from them and how can we contribute to them?
The PR Measurement Summit seeks to answer these questions and to bring together the foremost professionals in the industry to share their insight and experience with the region's PR professionals. I would like to invite all my colleagues who work in PR, including members of PR agencies, in-house practicioners, measurement professionals and clients, to join this year's event which includes a full day workshop and two days of panel discussions and case studies about how to measure PR in government and public affairs.
Last year's event drew more than 300 participants and speakers from around the world; I look forward to your participation.
